Courier service Solingen: fast pickups in the City of Blades
Knives, scissors and precision tools from Solingen are shipped all over the world, and many of them start their journey at short notice. A reliable courier service Solingen-based manufacturers and traders can book at any time makes sure those shipments leave promptly. DAGO Express organises the collection of your urgent freight through its partner network, usually within 60–120 minutes. Your goods are then driven directly to the recipient on a dedicated vehicle without transshipment. Solingen is well positioned between the Rhineland and the Bergisches Land: the A3 runs along the western edge of the city with the Solingen junction near Ohligs and Langenfeld, the A46 can be reached via Haan to the north, and the A1 passes close by near Wuppertal and Remscheid.
Hilly terrain, careful planning
The Wupper valley cuts deeply through the south of the city, and roads between Burg, Höhscheid and the centre wind up and down the slopes. Our dispatch department therefore plans the direct route for every collection. This route planning applies whether you are based in Ohligs, Wald, Gräfrath, Aufderhöhe or Merscheid. With our 24/7 operation, a same day courier is available, and deliveries for a fixed time on the following day can be booked as next day delivery.

Solingen courier prices: what they are based on
Every direct transport from Solingen is priced according to the distance, the size of the vehicle, the weight and dimensions of the goods and the time frame for delivery. Enter the collection and delivery postcodes in our online calculator and you will receive a quote within seconds. If you would rather send an email, we usually process requests within 15 minutes during business hours. There is no minimum shipment size, so we can collect a single sample case for a trade fair as well as a large pallet delivery of finished goods. Choosing the right vehicle size also keeps the cost of your urgent freight down.

Whatdo wetransport?
We are ISO 9001 certified. All cross-border transports are carried out by verified and reliable transport partners holding a valid EU license and – if required – an ADR license.
For temperature-controlled transports, we also provide a printout of the temperature profile recorded throughout the entire journey.
Solingen to the UK, the Benelux countries and beyond
Being so close to the Rhine-Ruhr motorway network gives Solingen excellent connections in every direction. Via the A3, the Netherlands and the port of Rotterdam are easy to reach, and Belgium and northern France follow via the A4 through Aachen. Southbound, the A3 leads towards Frankfurt, Munich and Austria. DAGO Express organises direct transports to and from 38 countries, and every cross-border job is carried out only by verified partners that hold the required licences. Your consignment remains on the vehicle that collected it in Solingen until it is delivered, which avoids extra handling.
Shipping blades and tools from Solingen to Great Britain
The UK is one of the traditional markets for Solingen cutlery, but since Brexit it lies outside the EU. Please mention the UK destination when requesting a quote and have the commercial invoice and export documents ready for collection. Deliveries to other EU countries require no customs formalities. If your consignment includes chemicals from surface finishing or other dangerous goods, let us know when booking so that an appropriately licensed partner takes the job. Our express courier across Europe then covers the whole journey, whether the goods are going to Sheffield or to Milan.
