Kielce: trade fairs, stone and industry

Kielce is the capital of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship and lies at the foot of the Holy Cross Mountains, roughly halfway between Warsaw and Kraków. Around 180,000 people live in the city. After the Channel crossing, by ferry from Dover to Calais or on Le Shuttle between Folkestone and Coquelles, the vehicle travels through Belgium and Germany. One option is the A2 via Hanover and Berlin, crossing into Poland at Świecko and following the Polish A2 past Poznań and Łódź towards Warsaw. The other uses the southern approach via Görlitz and the A4 through Wrocław and Katowice to Kraków.

Kielce itself sits on the S7 expressway corridor, which connects the city northwards with Radom and Warsaw and southwards with Kraków. To the east, route 74 leads towards Opatów.
