Expedited Freight: When Standard Freight Is Too Slow
Standard LTL freight moves through terminals: your pallet is picked up, cross-docked, loaded onto a linehaul truck, unloaded again and finally delivered – often days later. That works for planned shipments. It does not work when a production line is down, a customer is waiting for a missed delivery or a project deadline is tomorrow morning.
DAGO Express expedited freight takes the terminals out of the equation. Your shipment gets one exclusive-use vehicle that drives directly from pickup to delivery – no cross-docking, no transfers, no stops for other customers. The driver who loads your freight is the driver who unloads it, whether the run is 50 miles or 800. Calculate your flat rate in U.S. dollars with our online calculator and book in minutes.

What We Ship as Expedited Freight
Expedited freight is used whenever time costs more than transportation:
- Manufacturing and automotive – parts, tooling and components for a line-down situation or a supplier that missed its truck
- Retail and e-commerce – rescue shipments for a store opening, a missed replenishment or a key account delivery
- Construction and energy – materials, spare parts and equipment needed on site before work can continue
- Healthcare and life sciences – equipment and supplies that cannot wait for the next scheduled truck
- Trade shows and events – booth material and exhibits that have to arrive before the doors open
We move pallets, crates, cartons and loose freight – from a single box in a cargo van to multiple pallets in a box truck. For truck-size loads see our hot shot express delivery, and for smaller urgent items our same day delivery.
Expedited Freight vs. Hot Shot vs. LTL
All three options move freight by road – but they differ in how the freight travels, how fast it arrives and what it costs:
| LTL freight | Hot shot | Expedited freight (DAGO Express) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it moves | Shared trailer, several terminal stops and cross-docking | Dedicated truck for one shipment | Exclusive-use cargo van, Sprinter or box truck, direct from A to B |
| Typical load | 1–6 pallets | Heavier or bulkier freight | From a single box up to 6 pallets |
| Transit time | Usually 1–5 business days | Same day or next day | Same day on regional runs, next morning on longer runs |
| Handling | Loaded and unloaded several times | Loaded once | Loaded once, never touched in between |
| Best for | Planned shipments where cost matters more than time | Large urgent loads | Urgent shipments that must not wait for a terminal |
How to choose: if your shipment can wait a few days, LTL is the cheapest option. If it cannot wait and fits in a van or a box truck, expedited freight is usually the fastest and most economical choice – see our cargo van and Sprinter freight sizes. For large urgent loads, choose hot shot express delivery.

Expedited Freight Pricing: Flat Rates in U.S. Dollars
The cost of expedited freight depends on the distance in miles, the vehicle your shipment needs and how quickly the vehicle has to be on site. Because the vehicle is reserved for your shipment only, you pay one flat rate for the whole run – you see it in U.S. dollars before you book, with no hidden fees.
Ship expedited freight regularly, for example to keep a plant or a distribution center supplied? We set up business accounts with agreed rates, monthly invoicing and one contact person, and for fixed daily runs our routed delivery is the better fit. For single urgent items such as lab specimens or medication, book a STAT courier or our medical courier.
Frequently asked questions about our courier service
What is expedited freight?
Expedited freight is a time-critical shipment that is moved faster than standard freight. At DAGO Express it travels in one exclusive-use vehicle directly from pickup to delivery, without terminals or transfers.
How is expedited freight different from LTL?
LTL freight shares a truck with other shipments and passes through terminals where it is cross-docked. Expedited freight with DAGO Express gets its own vehicle and goes directly to the consignee, which is faster and reduces handling.
How fast can you pick up?
After you book, we confirm the vehicle and the pickup time. In major metro areas the vehicle is often on site within a few hours; the exact pickup time is shown in your booking confirmation.
Which vehicles do you use?
Depending on the size of your shipment we use cargo vans, Sprinter vans and box trucks – from a single box up to multiple pallets.
Do you ship expedited freight at night and on weekends?
Yes. Our dispatch works 24/7, including nights, weekends and holidays.
How much does expedited freight cost?
The price depends on the distance in miles, the vehicle and the pickup time. You see a flat rate in U.S. dollars in our online calculator before you book.
Who performs the transport?
DAGO Express Inc. is a licensed property broker registered with the FMCSA (MC 63254743). The transport is performed by vetted, authorized motor carriers with active operating authority and cargo insurance.
Can we set up an account for regular expedited shipments?
Yes. For regular expedited freight we offer business accounts with agreed rates, monthly invoicing and a dedicated contact.
