Box Truck Freight: A Whole Truck for Your Pallets

Some shipments are too big for a van and too small for a 53 ft trailer: six pallets of retail fixtures, a machine on a skid, ten pallets for a store opening, booth material for a trade show. A box truck or a straight truck is built exactly for these loads. It is loaded at your dock, drives directly to the consignee and is unloaded there – no terminal, no cross-docking, no other freight on board.

DAGO Express books one exclusive-use box truck for your freight and sends it straight from pickup to delivery, across town or across several states. You see a flat rate in U.S. dollars in our online calculator before you book. For locations without a loading dock we send a truck with a liftgate.

Notice

We are ISO 9001 certified. Interstate shipments are carried out by vetted motor carriers with active FMCSA operating authority and cargo insurance. Local courier runs within one state are handled by vetted, fully insured couriers.

For temperature-controlled transports, we also provide a printout of the temperature profile recorded throughout the entire journey.

How we vet our carriers

1Authority checkBefore the first load we verify USDOT number, operating authority and safety record in the FMCSA database. For local runs in cars and SUVs we verify driver license, vehicle registration and insurance.2Insurance checkValid cargo and liability insurance is required. We check the certificate before a carrier can take loads and again when it expires.3Carrier agreementEvery carrier signs our carrier agreement and service rules: no re-brokering, exclusive use of the vehicle, proof of delivery for every shipment.4Monitoring & ratingEvery shipment is monitored and rated for punctuality, communication and damage-free delivery. Carriers who do not meet our standards are removed from the network.

When to Choose a Box Truck

  • 4 to 14 pallets – too much for a van, far too little for a 53 ft trailer
  • Freight that should not go through an LTL terminal – fragile, high-value or easily damaged goods
  • Deliveries without a loading dock – a liftgate truck unloads at street level
  • Trade shows and events – booth material delivered on time, see trade fair logistics
  • Store openings, relocations and rollouts – fixtures, furniture and equipment in one run
  • Line-down situations – parts and tooling that keep a production line running

Compared to LTL, a box truck is faster and safer because your freight is never re-handled in a terminal. Compared to a full truckload, you only pay for the truck size you actually need – that is what small truckload (STL) shipping is about. Urgent? The same truck leaves right away as expedited freight.

What We Ship by Box Truck

Box trucks move almost anything that is palletized, crated or boxed and needs enclosed, careful handling:

Every shipment is covered by our transport insurance. For high-value freight, tell us the declared value when you book.

How Box Truck Shipping Works with DAGO Express

  1. Get your price – enter pickup, delivery, number of pallets and dimensions in the online calculator, choose the truck size and add a liftgate if needed. You see a flat rate in U.S. dollars right away.
  2. Truck confirmed – we assign a vetted carrier with active operating authority and cargo insurance and confirm the pickup time.
  3. Pickup and direct transit – the driver loads your freight and drives straight to the consignee. Our dispatch monitors the shipment 24/7 and keeps you updated.
  4. Delivery and proof of delivery – you receive the proof of delivery with the receiver's name and time, followed by one clear invoice.

No freight class, no NMFC code, no re-weigh: because you book the whole truck, the price is based on the vehicle and the distance – not on density or classification like in LTL.

Box Truck Freight Pricing

The price depends on the distance in miles, the truck size, a liftgate if needed and the pickup time. Because the truck carries only your freight, you pay one flat rate for the whole run – shown in U.S. dollars before you book, with no hidden fees. Our dispatch works 24/7, including nights, weekends and holidays.

DAGO Express Inc. is a licensed property broker registered with the FMCSA, USDOT 6965061, MC 63254743. Every transport is performed by a vetted, authorized motor carrier with active operating authority and cargo insurance. For regular shipments we set up business accounts with agreed rates and monthly invoicing.

Frequently asked questions about our courier service

How many pallets fit in a box truck?

A 14–16 ft box truck typically carries 4 to 8 standard 48" × 40" pallets, a 20–22 ft box truck 8 to 12, and a 24–26 ft straight truck up to 14 pallets.

What is the difference between a box truck and a straight truck?

Both have the cargo box mounted directly on the truck chassis, without a separate trailer. "Straight truck" is usually used for the larger sizes from about 24 ft, with payloads of up to approx. 10,000 lbs.

Do I need to arrange a CDL driver?

No. You book the transport, we take care of the right truck and a properly licensed driver. You only tell us pallets, dimensions and weight.

Can I get a box truck with a liftgate?

Yes. Select the liftgate option when you book or tell our dispatch. A liftgate is needed if there is no loading dock at pickup or delivery.

Is my freight the only load in the truck?

Yes. Every booking gets an exclusive-use truck that drives directly from pickup to delivery, without other shipments or terminal stops.

How much does box truck freight cost?

The price depends on distance, truck size, liftgate and pickup time. You see a flat rate in U.S. dollars in our online calculator before you book.

What is the difference between a box truck and a cargo van?

A cargo van carries 1 to 3 pallets and up to approx. 3,000 lbs. A box truck has a separate, taller cargo box, takes 4 to 14 pallets and can be equipped with a liftgate.

Do I need a freight class for box truck shipping?

No. Box truck freight is priced by vehicle size and distance, so you do not need an NMFC freight class and there are no re-class or re-weigh charges.

Can a box truck deliver to a residential address?

Yes. Box trucks get into residential streets much more easily than a semi-trailer. Book a liftgate if there is no loading dock.

Is my box truck shipment insured?

Yes. Every transport is covered by our transport insurance and the cargo insurance of the motor carrier. For high-value freight, state the declared value when you book.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes. Our dispatch monitors every shipment 24/7 and informs you at pickup and delivery. You receive a proof of delivery once the freight is unloaded.

What information do I need for a quote?

Pickup and delivery address, number of pallets or pieces, dimensions, total weight, whether a liftgate is needed and your preferred pickup date.
